Indig Design - Jeannette Sinclair & Kenny Mak (& Marty!)

Jeannette Sinclair, Kenny Mak & Marty

Indig Design, a majority Indigenous owned business, is a collaboration between Kenny Mak and Jeannette Sinclair, drawing on their individual & collective strengths.

Kenny’s interest and experience in technology, graphic design, marketing & sales, as well as having excellent research & listening skills, combined with his interest in photography and knowledge and creativity as a musician, created the foundation for Indig Design.

Jeannette’s Cree ancestry, her lived experiences some of which include post secondary education, personal interests and work experience strengthened and enhanced the scope of their business. She earned her PhD in Indigenous Peoples Education in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta, working there for six years, plus ten years in the public sector in Indigenous program funding & delivery, has given her considerable experience working with Indigenous people in Alberta and nationally. She considers herself fortunate to have engaged with Indigenous research frameworks, allowing her to learn from keepers of Traditional Knowledge and Indigenous scholars to deepen her understanding of Indigenous worldviews and Indigenous ways of knowing, enriching her academic journey and cultural knowledge base. She has a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge and culture , including her ancestral roots, and maintains ongoing connections to Traditional Knowledge holders for the wellbeing of her people and to provide cultural advising and consulting services.

Kenny and Jeannette are grateful to work together to create, inspire, build relationships and have a shared vision of doing great work that matters!
